Summary: JobButler AI helps you find work using AI. We only collect what's necessary, never sell your data, and you can always delete your account and data directly from the app.
1. Who are we?
JobButler A.I. is an app for job seekers that helps find vacancies, create CVs and write cover letters using artificial intelligence.

2. What data do we collect?
2.1 Data you provide
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed)
- Profile data: work experience, education, skills, desired roles, salary expectations, location preferences
- CV documents: CVs you upload or create in the app
- Application data: cover letters, interview answers, LinkedIn intros
- Intake chat: answers during the onboarding conversation
2.2 Automatically collected data
- Device data: device type, operating system, app version
- Usage data: which features you use (anonymized)
- Push notification tokens: for sending job alerts (optional)
2.3 What we do NOT collect
- No GPS location data
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID)
- No tracking cookies or ad trackers
- No special category personal data (race, health, religion, etc.)

4. How does AI processing work?
Important: AI in JobButler only provides recommendations and suggestions. No automated decisions with legal effects are made. You always decide whether to apply.
We use AI models from Anthropic (Claude) for:
- Job matching: comparing your profile and CV with vacancies
- CV analysis: analyzing strengths and areas for improvement
- Cover letter generator: based on a vacancy and your profile
- Interview trainer: AI conversation to prepare you
- Salary insights: advice on salary expectations
Your data is sent to the AI service over an encrypted connection (TLS) and is not used by Anthropic to train their models.
5. Who do we share your data with?
We never sell your data. We only share data with the following processors, with whom Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) are in place:

6. How long do we keep your data?
- Account data: as long as your account is active
- CVs and application data: as long as your account is active, or until you delete them
- After account deletion: all data is removed within 30 days
- Backups: overwritten after a maximum of 90 days
7. Security
- Encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) for all data transmission
- Passwords stored hashed (bcrypt)
- Row Level Security (RLS) — you can only access your own data
- JWT authentication for all API requests

9. Cookies
The JobButler app uses no cookies. The website jobbutlerai.com uses only strictly necessary cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
10. Children
JobButler is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
11. Automated decision-making
JobButler does not use fully automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. AI features provide suggestions but never make decisions with legal effects for you.
12. Complaints
Not satisfied? You can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
13. Changes
We may update this privacy policy. For significant changes, we will inform you by email or an in-app notification.
